Y pintor, escultor, fot\u00f3grafo, videoartista, poeta, traductor y cr\u00edtico literario (y puede que alguna otra que desconozcamos). Gand\u00eda ha publicado sobre todo poemarios y, en el a\u00f1o 2000, una novela titulada <em>Burdel<\/em>. Recientemente ha publicado la segunda, <em>La Habana y despu\u00e9s<\/em>, una obra ciertamente peculiar. En sus primeras p\u00e1ginas, un cubano nos cuenta que en su juventud era un mujeriego empedernido y trapicheaba con todo lo que pod\u00eda. Pas\u00f3 por varias c\u00e1rceles y acab\u00f3 en los Estados Unidos dando clases en la universidad y felizmente casado.. Uno empieza a dudar si se ha equivocado de libro, pero no: colecci\u00f3n \u201cInconfesables!\u201d de la editorial Odisea. El <em>marielito<\/em> enseguida cede la palabra a un narrador que nos traslada al mes de abril de 1994, cuando dos amigos, Alex y Mar\u00eda, visitan por primera vez La Habana y viven situaciones bastante curiosas. Pero el grueso de la novela lo forma el cap\u00edtulo segundo, titulado <em>Yunaisis, la Dragona<\/em>. Han pasado quince meses, y Alex, un artista amante de lo ex\u00f3tico, vuelve solo a la capital cubana, donde conoce a Yunaisis, \u201cque as\u00ed se hace llamar Rafael Trujillo Garrido, un mulato-mulata de diecisiete a\u00f1os y siete meses, un andr\u00f3gino s\u00faper estelar nacido bajo el signo de Sagitario y del Drag\u00f3n chino, un guajiro-guajira oriental que lo ha hechizado por entero, con su alegr\u00eda de vivir y sus magias caribe\u00f1as\u201d. Yunaisis es una zalamera, pero \u00e9l la quiere\u2026 asu manera. El alcohol magnifica el hechizo que le produce esa joven pantera que pretende convertirse en su \u00e1ngel de la guarda. Gand\u00eda demuestra dominar el habla cubana, que transcribe tal y como suena (\u201cT\u00fa no sabe\u2019 qu\u00e9 yo no sopolto?\u201d), y tambi\u00e9n la santer\u00eda yoruba. La relaci\u00f3n con Yunaisis se prolongar\u00e1 durante un par de a\u00f1os de visitas peri\u00f3dicas, pero tambi\u00e9n habr\u00e1 un Stivens, una Zoraida y otros cuerpos ocasionales. Finalmente, llegaremos al tercer y \u00faltimo cap\u00edtulo, bastante m\u00e1s breve, <em>La Reina del Sur de Filipinas<\/em>. Estamos en el verano del 97, y Alex decide viajar al otro extremo del mundo.
